Russell Mittermeier 

Russell Mittermeier has served as president of Conservation International (CI) since 1989. He is a prominent primatologist, herpetologist and wildlife conservationist with over 30 years of field experience in Central and South America. Prior to his work with CI, Mittermeier was vice president for science at the World Wildlife Fund US. In 1998, he was selected as one of Time magazine's EcoHeroes for the Planet.
