Originally a subsidiary of the well-known Volkswerft Stralsund shipyard, mbt Maschinen und Metallbau GmbH & Co. KG (mbt) is highly active in the planning, design and construction of stainless steel for the military and civilian sectors.

The activities of the company were given a new orientation after its final privatisation on October 1st, 1996, drawing on the experience acquired by its work force in the past to meet the needs of prospective customers.

Always aiming to be close to our customers, mbt exhibits widely at well-known tradeshows. Our information booth with and displayed product ranges always enjoy great popularity.

For effective production mbt has a comprehensive machinery replacement programme brought the manufacturing facilities into line with the latest requirements.

STAINLESS STEEL ON MEGA-YACHTS AND CRUISE LINERS

For mega-yachts and cruise liners, stainless steel provides an appealing and durable finish. mbt has a 50 years' know-how of manufacturing stainless steel and is one of the few suppliers who achieves the highest quality levels.

For stainless steel equipment of mega-yachts (60m to 136m) mbt is supplier for most German shipyards.

Our highly skilled workforce delivered mirror polished components for standard equipment that now can be seen aboard 10 of the 85 largest yachts in the world.

RETROFITS, ALUMINIUM AND TITANIUM HANDLING

mbt also performs refits, and our customers include cruisers of 290m class. The GL and ISO-certified company also provides high quality aluminium and titanium handling and all common and customer-specific kinds of surface processing.

Our long experience in cooperation with naval architects, designers and shipbuilders, enables mbt to offer individual solutions.
