SSAB Laminated Steel - High Strength Film-Coated Sheet Steel

SSAB Laminated Steel, a leading manufacturer of film-coated sheet steel in the marine sector, has introduced Dobel Metal, a fire-classified, film-coated sheet steel with the appearance of brushed stainless steel.

Dobel Metal will join the Swedish company’s other film-coated sheet steel products, Dobel F105, Dobel 2005 and Dobel Padena. Dobel is synonymous with high quality, high flexibility and cost-effectiveness.

INNOVATIVE SHEET STEEL PRODUCTS

The Swedish company has intensified its development work in recent years and now launches one innovation in sheet steel after another. Dobel 2005, a PVC-free alternative, was introduced two years ago, and last year saw the launch of Dobel Padena with its structured surface. The new product, Dobel Metal, is just as good looking, but more durable and easier to maintain.

One of the major advantages of Dobel Metal is that it does not show fingerprints. This means less cleaning and a fresher feel. The larger the surface, the greater the difference. This film-coated sheet is also less prone to scratching and, as a result, does not wear as rapidly as the original. In this way, walls and interior fittings can retain an ageless and fresh appearance, year after year.

CHEAPER THAN BRUSHED STAINLESS STEEL

Dobel Metal is up to 50% lower than the price of brushed stainless steel. Yet it still has the same designed look and attractive contrast with different colours and types of wood.

Dobel Metal is ready-to-use and easy to cut, bend and press. The sheet steel material can be joined using the same methods as all other Dobel products. A further advantage of the material is that it can be ordered in small quantities for fast delivery.

LAMINATED SHEET STEEL

Like the company's other sheet metal products, Dobel Metal is laminated, not painted. This means the sheet is ready-to-use as soon as the protective plastic film has been removed, and it does not need additional painting or varnishing.

SSAB Laminated Steel coats the sheet in modern, closed processes. From an environmental point of view, these methods are superior to the ones that are used when painting in situ. Among other things, more than 99% of the waste gases are recovered from the solvents.

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS - RECYCLED ENERGY

SSAB Laminated Steel also recycles energy from the combustion of the solvents and in this way takes the greatest possible account of the environment. By specifying a pre-coated product, the user gains time and transfers part of the responsibility for the environment to the manufacturer.

In addition to Dobel Metal, SSAB Laminated Steel offers a choice between more than 100 different colours and types of wood. All carry the Dobel trademark.

SSAB Laminated Steel is the biggest manufacturer of film-coated sheet in the Nordic region. The company offers one of the widest ranges on the market. Dobel sheet steel can be found in cars, lifts, furniture, doors and ship's cabins.

SSAB Laminated Steel is a subsidiary of SSAB Tunnpl åt, one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-strength steels. The base material for Dobel is produced by the same process as the high-strength steels and automatically adopts highly uniform characteristics, so that Dobel always has the same good workability.
