TAIFUN VACUUM CONVEYING SYSTEM

Meeting today's tough hygiene recommendations is easy with the Taifun vacuum conveying technology is based on the principle of transferring waste away from work areas immediately as it is generated –automatically and instantly. This eliminates the potential hygiene hazards associated with organic waste remaining close to where people are working, as well as unwelcome odours.

An integrated self-cleaning automatic washing system further enhances operations and hygiene, and simplifies maintenance. In addition, the system contains only few wearing parts and is built using modular components which can be replaced from stock and repaired at work shop. All this makes the Taifun vacuum conveying system virtually maintenance-free.

VACUUM WASTE REMOVAL

Waste is transferred in closed pipework, thus any pipe failure or leakage will result in air being sucked into the system rather than what can be unpleasant liquid into passenger public areas or cabins. The vacuum system also allows much more flexibility in arranging pipes throughout the accommodation areas.

The restrictions for installation are minimal and the pipeline can be installed both horizontally and vertically allowing the ship architect to plan the ship from the user's point of view.

The vacuum transportation system is environmentally- friendly – it has a low water consumption and low energy usage as well.

ONBOARD FOOD DISPOSAL

Taifun vacuum systems are available for cruise ships, passenger-car ferries and other technically demanding vessels. MariMatic has also developed a compact system for merchant vessels and retrofits. In this system food waste is first macerated in a local macerator unit located in the galley and then collected with the Taifun on-line pump unit. Additional advantage of this system is very small pipe diameter.
