The order includes two high-performance TLFKSR® twisted flap rudders for the Mediterranean Shipping Company as well as two TLFKSR® rudders for Norwegian Cruise Line.

The new cruise vessels MSC Fantasia and MSC Splendida will have a length of 296.0m, a breadth of 32.92m, a capacity of carrying 3,900pax and will be finished in November 2008 and March 2009.The cruise ships newbuildings for NCL will be 304.2m long, 37.0m wide and will be due to delivery in 2010.

Additional twisted rudders TLFKSR® with a size of 25.5m². each will be produced for the Superliberty class vessels of Carnival Cruises, currently under construction at Fincantieri. The MS Carnival Dream and MS Carnival Magic with a length of 304.2m, a breadth of 37.0m and a draught of 8.2m will carry 3,652pax.

The orders of Becker's twisted flap rudders TLFKSR® underline the company's success in combining both, the manoeuvring and the innovative demands. The TLFKSR® rudder system is suited for best manoeuvring performance at low speed due to flap, but also suited to minimise cavitation erosion due to incorporation of the twisted leading edge. Further benefits of the TLFKSR® are reduced fuel consumption, reduced risk of vibration and low installation height.
